Comic Dilemma Part I

Congratulations to Ghost Rider for being Number 1 at this weekend's box office.

Now what I think is really funny is there are so many comic book movies coming in the future. In May we have Spiderman 3, which I am eagerly anticipating. In July there is Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, another movie I want to see just because, Silver Surfer is in it, that means GALACTUS!!!!!!! Next summer Robert Downey Jr. is playing Tony Stark in a film version of Iron Man; interestingly enough Lionsgate Animation just released The Invincible Iron Man directly to DVD, a good movie by the way.

It was a joke in Kevin Smith's comedy Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back where one of the characters makes a comment about movie companies buying up all the comic book rights there are out there after X-Men made it big at the box office; that movie spawned two sequels that have done quite well, and coming soon two spin-off movies, the will be a third Spiderman movie, they redid the origin of the caped crusader in Batman Begins, The Punisher exacted his revenge, Superman returned as well. There have been a few let downs, Daredevil, Elektra, and Hulk...but The Incredible Hulk is coming soon, and hopefully they will make up for the mistakes of the past.

The point of this blog is the future of comic book movie adaptations. And here are my picks for who should play what if the franchise is optioned:
The Flash

Now, The Flash is supposed to be quick-witted, to match his superspeed. My first pick was Ryan Reynolds seeing how well he did with his comedic timing in Blade: Trinity, but I have him picked for another role as well so I've picked Seann William Scott...he is naturally funny and we've see how bulked up he can get from films like The Dukes of Hazzard or The Rundown...he'd be a good choice.

Running out of room...I'll continue in the next post
